MARHALLS – John (JJ) & Chris Johnson

Hi everyone, we will both be coming along from WA to help the organisers as I (JJ) did on the 2022 West/East Cannonball.

My oldest bike is a 1949 Panhead which I restored so is not quite old enough to take part officially but this is the next best way to take part in another great adventure and help everyone along the way. Not riding the Pan but you will see me on a Red/Black Heritage and Chris on her Freewheeler Trike (90,000k’s) clocked up so far.

I’ve attended both the 70th & 75th Anniversary Panhead rides on my blue/white 1965 Harley-Davidson – Electra-Glide (only WA Rider) so I’m known to many of you.

I’m also the ride Coordinator for the Early American Motorcycle Club here in WA. We will see you all in Darwin.

PHOTO-JOURNALIST – Olivier Touron

My name is Olivier Touron.

I was born in 1969 in Paris, France.

In 1999, I started a career as a photojournalist, working for the main newspapers and magazines in France.

In 2018, I came to live in the USA with my wife, Shelly Denny (@acupunkontheroad), a biker from a young age whom I met at the Sturgis rally that year while doing a photo report.

Today, I regularly collaborate with motorcycle magazines in the USA and Europe.

In 2022, I was invited by Jason Sims to document the Cross Country Chase along Road 66. (https://www.oliviertouron.fr/Web/202209-CrossCountryChase/)

In 2023, with the same team, I documented the American Motorcycle Cannonball from Virginia Beach, VA, to Oceanside, CA. (https://www.oliviertouron.fr/Web/2024-01-Cannonball2023/)

Starting Marshall – Doug “Blue” Cowey

A Little about me.

You will see and hear me every morning, your ears will be sick of me by the end of the event because I am the starter with the Bull Horn.

This is my second Cannonball. I am 65 single and ready to mingle. I will direct you politely.

By day I am a driving instructor and have 13 old Bikes. I also Run the Chiltern Rally for VVMC.

My regular ride is a M20 BSA, 71 Bonneville, a 741, Yamaha Outfit called the “PIG” and a 650 VSTROM.

For this Event I will be driving the Snail House Pictured.

MARSHALLS – Robert (Cowboy) & Michele Gorman

Our names are Cowboy and Michele. We are from Canberra and we retired just prior to the Indian Pacific Cannonball in 2022.

Cowboy was a truck driver and truck salesman. He also spent time in sales for Harley-Davidson.

This turned into a passion for Harley-Davidson and we have ridden Harleys in the USA and to lots of great Australian destinations. We have made lifelong friends, some of whom will be participating in this Cannonball.
At the last Cannonball we were the support team for Peter Marshall. Some of you will remember our yellow 1942 WLA, which helped as a spare parts bike for things such as a kick start pedal, gear box adjustment bolt and a head.

Michele has worked as an executive assistant in both private enterprise and the public sector.

We had the most amazing experience at the last Cannonball so decided to volunteer to assist the organising committee. We will greet you each morning as the Start Marshalls.

We have a well-used Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) rattle can and are hoping to once again raise some more funds for the RFDS.
